ANNOUNCEMENTS

Independence Party of Minnesota, CD3

Dear Fellow 3rd District Members,

This election year is going to be busy. We have already endorsed an outstanding candidate for our District to fill the vacant spot of Jim Ramstad. His name is David Dillon and here is his website:

http://www.dillonforcongress.org/site/.

Please visit David’s website for information and donations. If you have any questions about David I would like to direct you to his website. This campaign will need a lot of volunteers and those will be called upon often. There will be many events where we will need volunteers to help out at booths, parades and other events as well. Just keep a tab on his website for upcoming events. I will do my best to keep you informed as well as to what is going on.

We also asking for your donations to the District as well. There will be a couple of events that we would like to take part in and the money just isn’t there at this time. I am asking you to please help. These events are parades and a booth at the Hennepin County Fair. You can send your checks made out to Congressional District 3.

If there are any other potential candidates that are looking for Party and District Nomination can you please let us know as soon as possible. The Leadership would like to meet with you. We will hold a special nominations meeting/convention at sometime during the State Convention May 3rd.

We are looking for someone that is willing to host events for our District. Anyone? Please let me know!!

Joe Gardner

Your Chair

MN-IP CD3

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

In contrast to the two other major parties, the IP, as a relatively new and growing party, has many opportunities for members, new and old, to get more involved in the party through a variety of leadership positions.  There is a leadership opportunity for every desired level of individual commitment.  Through these positions of leadership, the future of the IP will be shaped.

Below is a general list of the major opportunities available to get more involved in the Party:

  • State Standing Committees Representatives
  • CD3 Special Committee Members
  • Legislative District Officers (Chairpersons, Vice Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers)
  • Central Committee Persons & Alternate Central Committee Persons
  • State & Local Party Delegates
  • Running for State or Federal Office

If you are interested in becoming more involved in the party, please contact one of the district officers, who can get you information on the positions available, descriptions of the responsibilities of those positions, anticipated level of time commitment, etc.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The 3rd Congressional District's retiring US Congressional District Representative is Jim Ramstad, Republican from Minnetonka. David Dillon is has won the endorsement of CD3's IP in the race to replace him. You can learn more about Dillon at www.dillonforcongress.org!

If you are not sure if you live within the 3rd Congressional District, call your local elections office in your city of residence or (612) 348-5151, and they can tell you when you give them your home address.

The 3rd Congressional District maintains an email distribution list of interested citizens and party members, which we use to send out monthly information to and reminder of the meetings and activities.  If you would like to be on this email list, please contact Ben Thome - cd3vice@mnip.org.
