PAUL HUTTNER, CHIEF METEOROLOGIST, MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO

Climate change is global problem. Minneapolitans with the best of intentions are seeking to make a difference, whether with increased recycling, supporting more mass transit/bike lanes, or even mandating local power companies to increase the amount of energy they get from renewable sources. Yet does will it really make any difference? If you covered every house in Minneapolis with a solar panel, would it even begin to counteract the 50+ coal power plants China builds every year?
