The Tax Checkoff Program
This is really easy to do, and costs you nothing!  When you fill out your state taxes, check the box indicating that you want your $5 of public campaign financing to go to the IP.  If you don't check a box, it goes into the general campaign coffer, not to you or to elsewhere in government.

Contribute to the Independence Party and Get Your Money Back!
The Minnesota Political Contribution Refund (PCR) program encourages citizens to contribute funds to eligible Minnesota candidates and political parties.  The Independence Party of Minnesota (IP) is eligible to participate in this program.

The underlying goal of the publicly funded PCR program is to offset the influence of wealthy individuals and lobbying groups by providing candidates and parties with enough small contributions to adequately finance their activities.  Unlike the Democratic and Republican parties, the IP does not accept PAC money.  So it's especially important for IP supporters to take advantage of this PCR program.

Here's how it works:  If you are eligible to vote in Minnesota, up to $50 ($100 for married couples) of your contribution to the IP can be refunded to you by the State of Minnesota.  You can contribute more, but only $50 ($100 for married couples) will be refunded by the State.

After you make a contribution to the IP, we will send you a PCR receipt and the form you use to claim your refund.  You complete the form, and mail it along with your receipt to the MN Dept. of Revenue.  In about three to six weeks (longer during the January-April tax season), you'll receive your PCR refund check from the State.  It's that easy!
