Calling Citizens to Action

Leaders and members of the Independence Party have been working to provide solutions to the budget impasse and have been attempting to pressure our elected officials to end the government shut down by agreeing to a two year state budget.

Sadly these legislative leaders and Governor Pawlenty listen to no one more
than their own special interests and now there is an urgent need to call our grass-roots members to action. Our message is this is OUR opportunity, while the gridlock continues in St. Paul, to reach out to others of like minds and organize Independence Party local units to field state candidates next fall.

The Independence Party is asking our membership, disgusted citizens of Minnesota, laid off state workers, and all moderate members of the Republicans and DFL to make real change at the next election by electing Independents to state office in November 2006.

Independents can be the "swing vote" in both houses, by electing 10 Independents to the Senate and 10 to the House, and bring an end to dysfunctional state government and return our state to work. 

Party leaders will be on the front steps of the State Capitol at 11 AM Friday, July 8 to issue our "call to action."
