A message from Craig Swaggert, Party Chair
Dear Independence Party Virtual Caucus Participant:
On behalf of the Independence Party of Minnesota, thank you for logging
on to our virtual caucus. The Independence Party is growing and we
welcome your participation.
Over the next few minutes, we invite you to share your thoughts on
issues and provide you with an opportunity to become more
involved. We also want to know what you think of our platform and
how you think it could be improved.
We will also be conducting a non-binding straw poll for president. You have heard a lot of political rhetoric about
“change” from both Republican and Democrat candidates
seeking their party's nomination this year. Both parties are
invoking "change" as their mantra because they know that independent
voters want a stop to the bipartisan bickering in Washington DC.
By your participation in the IP Caucuses tonight you are saying that
independent voters in Minnesota are looking for real change in
Washington that the other two parties are not empowered to enact
because of the extremes in both their parities. The Independence
Party, either by electing our own candidates or cross-endorsing others,
is the only chance for real change in our political process.
The Independence Party is the party for the people and not the
lobbyists and corporate interests that have thwarted the will of the
People. We will represent you – and not special
interests. So, please, tell us what you think and share freely
your ideas on how to improve government.
After you complete our caucus, I urge you to stay involved with our
party … as a volunteer, as delegate or even as a candidate for
public office this fall.
Democracy is not free and it is not a spectator sport … it
requires your time, energy and commitment. If you believe that a
group of committed individuals working together can improve things, I
urge you to stay involved.
I look forward to working you in the future to both strengthen our
party and, more importantly, make government work for the people -- and
in the process make our state and country a better place to work and
live.
Sincerely,
Craig Swaggert
Chair, Independence Party

Contribute to Minnesota’s Independence Party.
We believe special interest money is the fuel for the fire of our increasingly
dysfunctional political system (remember the shutdown?). We don't accept PAC
money so we count on your individual contributions. Please remember to check of
"Independence Party" on your Minnesota income tax return and consider donating
to the party now by clicking here.
Your donation will be put to good use in offering positive politics to Minnesotans again. |
