The Independence Party refuses to be influenced by special interests. This means we reject their huge lump sums of money. Unfortunately, money is still the backbone of any strong political party. The Independence Party needs each and every dollar our supporters can give. Although we operate in a fiscally responsible manner, there are day-to-day costs that cannot be met without your help. Examples include maintaining an office, telephone and long distance expenses, mailings, making our presence felt at State and County fairs, conducting conventions, and maintaining our web presence to name a few. 

We are left with a basic question of how do we do we convert our voters into contributors? Luckily, we still have the PCR program in Minnesota allowing individuals to donate up to $50 for a full refund, or $100 for a married couple. On it's own, this program can bring this party to a competitive balance with the Democrats and Republicans if the majority of our supporters participate. Have you made your PCR donation this year? Have you told family and friends how the PCR program works? This is one simple commonsense solution to competing with special interest money, without sacrificing our principals.

Beyond the PCR program, we feel we provide a great opportunity for the voters to throw special interests out of politics -- but to do this we need every bit of help we can get. We ask that anyone with the capacity to do so, dig deep to help us now. The sooner the Independence Party can become a major player at the capital, the sooner we can change the system so we are less reliant on your donations. Do not let anyone tell you we are a non-factor, that you are wasting your time your money or your vote. In a democracy, only you can make the judgment of who best represents you.
